Badger Builders
OUR STORY
Dedication and Service
It is incredible how one small idea can grow into something truly special. Creating Badger Builders is rooted in the belief that we all have an inherent responsibility to make a meaningful difference in our community. With a variety of active projects and a large volunteer staff, we harness our skills and resources to successfully achieve our goals.
Creating Badger Builders (CBB) is a public/private partnership between LISD (being public) and CBB (being private). CBB’s goal is to help mentor Construction I and II in building a tiny home. They’ll get real world experience while receiving skilled direction from the teacher and CBB representatives. The organization is 100% privately funded and has the complete support of LISD.
We’re hoping to spark an interest in the kids to choose a career path in construction trades and show that you have other opportunities outside of the traditional 4 year (and expensive) college route. Construction business owners need new, young talent. LISD and CTE is perfect for molding those future employees and business owners.
OUR MISSION
What We Believe In
The mission of the Organization is to provide local high school students the opportunity to work alongside industry experts and professionals to gain real-world work experience and prepare them to be well-trained productive and educated craftsmen in the local construction industry.
Career & Technical Education (CTE)
Liz Haviland runs the CTE program at the high school which includes trades.
Richard Brown runs Construction Technology I and II. Those classes will be in charge of the build with Mr. Brown's supervision and our oversight.
